Each original oil pastel is float mounted within a shadow box frame, allowing the artwork to sit slightly away from the backing so the deckled paper edge can be seen. This presentation preserves the natural character of the sheet while giving the work room to breathe.
Frames are professionally custom crafted from a 20x40mm profile natural oak, with a fine layer of walnut stain and standard glazing for protection. Each piece arrives ready to hang with wire installed.
Original oil pastel works are undertaken on heavyweight archival paper. Each work is produced using professional-grade materials and finished by hand. Deckled edges are intentional and form part of the work’s character. As a result of the process and medium, subtle variations in texture and surface may be present.
Oil pastel remains a living surface. The work has been stabilised to preserve its colour, depth, and tactility while helping protect the surface from dust. As with all oil pastel works, the surface remains soft and responsive and should be handled with care. Framed glazing is recommended to enhance longevity.
All originals are hand-signed. Every work comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from A Novel Art Department.
